Dons Trust - Constitution
The Dons Trust, or to give it its full name Wimbledon Football Club Supporters' Society Limited, is an Industrial and Provident Society (IPS) and as such is registered with the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
Under the rules of the FSA a Society must have a set of rules. These rules state clearly what the Society is allowed to do and not do. It is very important that the Constitution (rules), and any changes made to it, allow the Dons Trust Board to manage effectively.
Under the rules of the FSA a Society may amend its constitution by either registering a complete amendment of the rules or a partial amendment. At the AGM for 2003 the Society decided to proceed on the basis of making partial amendments to the existing rules and this has been the procedure we have continued to follow.
The FSA defines a partial amendment as "when the current rule book remains registered, but some rules are altered, added or deleted (rescinded). Partial amendments are listed at the end of the rulebook, they are not incorporated into the main body of the rules.
The formal rulebook with all the partial amendments listed at the end up to and including those passed by the members at the SGM held on 16 October 2008 is available here (223kb pdf).
Successive secretaries of the Trust have found it helpful in practice to work with a version of the Constitution that incorporates the partial amendments into the main body of the rules. It seems sensible to share this unofficial version so that members can work with a version that is easier to follow. You can view it here (200kb pdf).
