Masters update

With the 2006 Masters Tournament only a few days away, the OS caught up with some of the players involved.

Alan Kimble and Carlton Fairweather have both expressed their excitement at representing Wimbledon on Sunday. Glen ?Trigger? Mulcaire has been talking to Alan Kimble and says he is looking forward to representing what he considers the ?real? Wimbledon, while Fairweather is thrilled about playing in front of the old Wimbledon fans again.

Trigger also spoke to Scott Fitzgerald, who is currently managing Brentford Under 18s (who face AFC Wimbledon Under 19s this Saturday). ?I consider AFC Wimbledon to be the true continuation of Wimbledon football? said Scott. ?It is a pleasure to be playing in the Masters?.

The Masters takes place at Wembley Arena on Sunday 16 July, starting at 7.30pm and will feature players from both Wimbledon FC and AFC Wimbledon, playing side by side against teams from Arsenal, Watford and Tottenham. With the Masters being broadcast live on Sky Sports, this is a huge opportunity to remind the world that football is alive and well in Wimbledon.

The squad is as follows:
Glenn ?Trigger? Mulcaire
Roger Joseph
Scott Fitzgerald
Keith Ward
Dean Holdsworth
Alan Kimble
Andy Clarke
Marcus Gayle
Carlton Fairweather
