Train for a career in football with AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon operates a full-time programme of education and football development at Nescot College Epsom and invites applications to its under 19 squad for the academic year 2007-2008. The AFC Wimbledon football development programme is ideal for those who have been released from professional football club academies or centres of excellence. Applications are welcome from boys who have a good track record in their football career to date but all players who are accepted on to a full time Nescot course will be given the opportunity at trials.

To participate in the full weekly 10 hour programme of coaching, training and playing boys need to apply for the BTEC level 1, 2 or 3 courses in Sports and Coaching. Boys who wish to study other academic or vocational subjects will also be considered but this will depend on timetabling once an offer at Nescot is confirmed.

Boys who are accepted into the squad will get the opportunity to develop their football skills, knowledge and understanding. There will be opportunities to play in the Football Conference Youth League (FCYL), a midweek floodlit youth league, the FA and other Youth Cups. The goal is for boys to progress to the senior AFC Wimbledon reserve and first teams.

To join the under 19 squad at Nescot students must:
? apply for and meet the appropriate entry requirements of Nescot College
? successfully complete AFC Wimbledon?s football trials to be held in July 2007
? be aged over 16 and under 19 on 31 August 2007.

Players made an offer will be notified of enrolment dates and times prior to enrolment which starts in August. Nescot College will make every effort to accommodate successful trialists but, as in the case of any prospective student, cannot guarantee admission in the autumn unless all academic qualifications are met.

Prospectus and application forms are available on-line at the Nescot website here or may be requested direct from the College by email here or phone on 020 8394 3038 or by writing to:
