Your questions answered about matchdays at Kingsmeadow
Is anything being done about the pigeons at Kingsmeadow?
Yes - AFCW are working with Kingstonian to stop the pigeon problem. K's are making every effort to remove pigeon droppings prior to games. Several novel ideas have been suggested, including hawks and a team cat! We at AFCW recognise the problem and hope to have it solved, satisfactorily, within the next week.
Will there be a "No Smoking" section at Kingsmeadow?
Yes indeed - we trialled a no smoking section at the Brimsdown Rovers Cup match and it was successful. We will run this from now on at all matches. The blocks that have been designated no smoking are blocks J & K. Please be sure to let us have your feedback. This initiative was driven by fans' requests.
Why does my bag get searched on the way into Kingsmeadow?
At the moment AFC Wimbledon stewards are working alongside Kingstonian Stewards who still effectively manage crowd safety at our home games. The rules of the ground are that all bags must be searched. This is at present jointly being upheld by ourselves and the Ks stewards.
It is not only women who are searched, any man entering with a bag will have it searched.
As to what they are looking for, it can be any number of items including alcohol, glass bottles and weapons.
I know it's a pain to constantly be searched but at present it is necessary.
Will AFCW be doing advanced ticket sales?
Yes - we aim to sell tickets in advance as soon as possible. There are several factors which are slowing this down at present.
Where can I buy AFCW merchandise?
Both Dons Trust and AFCW merchandise is available on matchdays at Kingsmeadow. You will find it located in the "banqueting suite" - this is the bar furthest from Kingston Road and nearest to the athletics track.
