From the Forest Green Rovers programme - Dons Trust Board Election/SGM news

The following article appeared in the programme from the Forest Green Rovers game on Saturday 2 October.

Dons Trust board secretary Julian Edwards writes: Trust members should by now have received papers formally starting the election process, via the method (email or post) they have chosen to hear from the Trust,

The following members’ two-year terms come to an end this year: Ray Armfield, Matthew Breach, David Cox, Sean McLaughlin and Iain McNay. There are thus five vacancies to be filled by election.

The election will be conducted according to this timetable:

Sat 2 October Nominations open
Mon 18 October Nominations close
Mon 25 October Manifestos published on the official website
Tues 27 October Voting forms and candidates’ manifestos sent to members
Sat 20 November Closing date for voting
Mon 22 November Announcement of the result

Arrangements will be made for members to meet and talk to candidates at home matches between 27 October and the close of voting, and there will be an on-line forum for asking them questions. If possible, a hustings event will be arranged. More details will be announced when nominations close.

If you want to stand as a candidate, you will need to fill in a nomination form, which all Dons Trust members will have received, and can be downloaded from the official website.

If your membership is overdue for renewal, please note that you will not be able to vote unless you are a paid-up member on 30 September.

If there’s anything that isn’t clear, or anything you’d like to discuss, drop a line to elections@thedonstrust.org or contact the office on 020 8547 3528 and Geoff Seel will do his best to help.

We all look forward to a vibrant contested election.

Chairman of the Dons Trust board David Cox invites all Trust members to the SGM.

There will be a Special General Meeting of the members of the Dons Trust here at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday 13 October at 7.30 pm.

This is one of the three general meetings that the club holds each year to discuss policies and developments at the club and to enable members to quiz the board.

The agenda and papers have been sent out to members. You will see from the agenda below that Terry Brown will be joining us during the evening. There is also one formal resolution, put by members, for this meeting.

The main item of business is the Members’ Survey -- long discussed, but now at last reaching the crucial stage where your views about priorities are needed to help determine the options on which all Dons Trust members will be asked to vote later in the year. Please come along and contribute to the debate.

We look forward to seeing as many Dons Trust members as possible for a lively evening.
