Following his success in the fans' vote for the AFC Wimbledon kit for the next two seasons, competition winner and man-about-town Marc Jones was whisked away for a glamorous working break in sunny Istanbul.
He and commercial director Ivor Heller visited kit supplier Tempest's main factory and oversaw the first few kits in production. Ivor was delighted to maintain the club's association with Tempest.
"We had a lot of quotes and a lot of interest in making our kit, but I'm delighted to say Tempest offered by far the best deal. It's good to be working with people who are fans and to see their commitment to the club."
Marc enjoyed his trip and hopes the design proves popular:
"It was interesting to see how big an operation Tempest have. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see thousands of Dons shirts on the production line, but I did get to see my design 'in the flesh'.
"I like it, I just hope the fans do. It'll be a buzz seeing people wear it and the team win in it. I'm really proud to have won the competition and I hope the club makes a fortune from it!"
The kit will be shipped to England shortly and will be worn by the first team for the first time against Barnet on Saturday July 24. It will be on sale on the day, with pre-launch sales on the evening of Friday 23 July, combined with a Meet the Manager Q&A session. For further details see the news section.
